Target

Full Name
CD34 Molecule
Introduction
CD34 (CD34 Molecule) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CD34 include Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans and Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor. Among its related pathways are Hematopoietic Stem Cell Differentiation Pathways and Lineage-specific Markers and Innate Immune System. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include transcription factor binding and sulfate binding.
Entrez Gene ID
UniProt ID
Function
Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins.
